Te reo Maori poetry: The heart of creative writing

Great literature is born of great speakers and Kiri Atawhai Dewes of Ngati Porou sets an example for all would be poets to create rhetoric prose in te reo Maori. Although she has not yet published any of her poetic works as far as I know, the following documentary outlines her life and gives us a glimpse into some of her work.

Waka Huia profiles the extraordinary life and times of Ngati Porou kuia, Kiri Atawhai Dewes  gaining an insight into her many achievements, goals and aspirations.
