The Maori Language in many contexts

The Maori language has seen some considerable developments over the years that include official language status, integration into various public sectors such as Maori Television, politics and education, arts and entertainment, preschool to high school development, that is te kohanga reo (preschool) to kura kaupapa (intermediate) to wharekura (high school) to whare waananga (university). Although these are great domains for Maori language development, there is still much to do in terms of increasing its spread and use.

The Maori language has a strong presence on the world wide web in education, culture, art, history, films, television and many more. Thank goodness for social network sites that allow me to reach a wider audience and share my insights about the Maori language.
